October’s recap

Sorry for the inactivity here it’s been a very busy and successful month! ⭐️

Here’s a look at a few of the planning permissions we received in October:-

🔹 A major development scheme was approved for the demolition of the existing dwelling and buildings at 228 Abergele Road, Old Colwyn and for the erection of a new building which will provide 16 no. apartments. The site is centrally located in Colwyn Bay town and will provide 100% affordable housing. There will be a mix of high quality 1 and 2 bedroom flats to meet local needs. ✅

🔹 A successful conversion of the ground floor of 47 High Street, Bangor from retail use (A1) into a residential unit (C3). The first and second floors were already residential use and now the entire building has been approved for residential use. ✅

🔹 We assisted in the re-submission of a revised application to change the use of the rear restaurant/bar area of Llywelyns, Llanrwst into 3 no. dwellings. A successful re-use of part of a historic building with a well thought out and sensitive design, and with un-viable affordable housing payments dropped after we made detailed viability arguments ✅

🔹 Over in Bryn Maelog, Rhosneigr we were successful in gaining permission for the demolition of an existing large holiday property, which is in poor structural condition, and for the erection of a new replacement holiday home. A high quality design has been proposed and will fit in nicely amongst existing development in the area. ✅

🔹 Successful permission for the erection of 6 new dwellings on land adjacent to Maes Llwyd, Llanystumdwy. The site is located within the development boundary and will form an acceptable continuation of development to the adjoining recently developed site, Maes Llwyd. The plans for 2 and 3 bedroom dwellings have been approved to meet local needs in the area. ✅

🔹 The Old Post Office, Bangor, this application follows an earlier one that sought planning permission for the proposed change of use of part of the ground floor and of the upper floors into offices & classrooms for university use and the retention of an extant use as a nightclub. We were successful in receiving planning permission and listed building consent to add a lift shaft onto the building which will make the building highly accessible for all users. These permissions will allow for the restoration of this historic building and be a great addition for the university and student life in Bangor. ✅
