Glamping scheme granted in shadow of Scheduled Ancient Monument

Our clients for this project wished to diversify their hill farm by adding two glamping pods on land set next to the farm. As the site was set in an AONB, and very close to Castell Dinas Brân (a Scheduled Ancient Monument) as well as being close to several ecological designations, we advised that the scheme would require a robust submission to receive support.

After bringing together a project team we sought pre-application advice which included a supporting argument for the case as farm diversification. The Local Planning authority advised that they would support the scheme subject to a detailed submission being made to address several factors.

The resulting submission tackled the range of planning, heritage, ecological, landscape, and drainage matters, and after responding to comments from statutory consultees we were able to secure a full planning permission with only very minor matters related to lighting left to address under condition.

Our clients can now strengthen their farming business and the local area will have a great addition to range of tourist accommodation on offer.
